Waiting for my husband's results.

My husband has noticed blood when using the loo and has put off mentioning anything for about 3 months. In the last few weeks he's had a endoscopy where they found something, followed by an MRI and a CT scan. They rang today (after 10 days) and have said that we have to wait until Friday for a consultation. Is the fact that we have to wait a little a good sign? If it was really bad would they get him straight in? We lost our son to leukemia a few years ago and I'm not sleep, pace the house, tummy problem inducingly worried. Any advice would be great. They wouldn't tell him any results over the phone - if it was really bad, they'd have told him, right?

  • Hi there and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear your husband has been undergoing tests and that you are both now awaiting the results. Times like this are never easy and can be an anxious time for everyone involved.

Unfortunately no one here or anywhere else apart from the hospital can tell you what may be going on. It also isn't possible to read between the lines of what is going on by the time it takes to get results or be seen by the doctor, i'm afraid.

For now you need to try and sit tight and keep yourself and mind as busy as possible with other things.

Please get back in touch if needed or feel free to call the helpline on 0808 800 4040 if you prefer.

    Take care

    Naomi
