Hello and thanks for posting,
I am sure that they will review you when you see the doctors and chemotherapy nurses and they will make sure that the infection has all cleared up before they decide on whether or not to give the chemotherapy.
They may delay you for a further week if they don't feel that the infection has quite cleared up.
I am sure that they will also want to check your bloods to see whether they are all within normal limits. It is important that you say how you are feeling and whether you are feeling up to receiving the next course of chemotherapy.
A lot will depend on the type of chemotherapy and cancer that you have in their decision making.
Sometimes they can reduce the dose of the chemotherapy if they feel that it would be better for you.
Do make sure that you address any concerns that you have.
If you would like to ring and discuss any of this with one of the helpline nurses you are welcome to give us a call. You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
All the best,
Catherine
