Eye lymphoma

Hi I was at the eye hospital about a lesion in my white of my right eye. She said it’s probably lymphoma as a result of having celiac disease. I have to get a biopsy and scan in 7-10 days. I never mentioned a small lump under my armpit. What will I expect.

  • Hello and thanks for posting

I'm sorry to read about your situation.

Although coeliac disease can sometimes increase the risk of developing lymphoma it's not a foregone conclusion, but it's good that you you are being thoroughly checked out.

The biopsy will allow the doctors to take a closer look at the lesion in your eye. It will help to confirm whether it's lymphoma or something else. The scan will give a detailed view of your eye and the surrounding areas. It will also help check if there is anything else of concern such as the lump in your armpit. I know you haven't mentioned this to the doctor it would be a good idea to bring it up at your next appointment.

I hope you get some answers soon. Give us a ring if you would like to talk anything over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
