Scared mum

Hey guys,

so since it’s a Sunday I’m about near my max out of self induced, dr google, fear. However yesterday I found out some interesting news that may link a few medical issues I’ve been having recently.

last week I saw the endoscopy team, who found an over production of bile, but otherwise looked ok, diagnosis as to which I’m trialing new medications for. I am also due for a colposcopy on the 5th Dec due to high risk HPV and high risk changes found, I am terrified with that news as is.
yesterday whilst doom scrolling my phone I came across an American law suit against Pfizer and the Depo- injection, which I received at the ages of 16/17-22/23 around a possible 20 doses were received by myself in this time. And it links my symptoms together. The daily spewing, which when pregnant with my son started at week 4 and lasted till birth at 39 weeks on the nose, which went away for a couple months, returned with a very bitter revenge and hasn’t stopped since then. My son is now 16 months old and I’m wondering if I’ll ever stop spewing.
at the age of 16 I started getting Migraines. I would always usually get an aura and found they would arise straight after exercise, after diet/zero fizzy drinks, and dehydration among others and new finds every day nearly. The migraines are getting worse as to which sumatriptan has no effect on them anymore, nor paracetamol or migralieve, I’ve now been given rizatriptan to try. The pressure in my head during a migraine literally makes me want to drill a hole in my head to let the pressure out. To where recently my eyes literally hurt being closed because there’s too much pressure. I feel like I’m sorely needing an MRI but when requesting one three weeks ago with another new GP, he chuckled and said let’s focus on your spewing for now. I’m genuinely so scared with what’s happening to me and I’m scared I might leave my son before he’s ready.

  • Forgot to write in that Pfizer are being sued due to brain tumours being found in patients after having received the depo injection.

  • Get to another GP. You should be seeing a neurologist about the intractable migraines. Don't take no for an answer. I've been twice to neurologists for migraine issues and had relatively clean MRIs but migraine alone is enough to deserve a referral without even beginning to worry about potential tumours. I'm sorry you've been experiencing such pain and that the doc was dismissive.

How often do you get them?

  • So recently they’ve been a lot more prevalent, from the ages of 16-21 they came about once or twice a month as to where now, my heads usually always a little sore and a migraine now appears at least once a week. I’ve not had much luck with my GP at all. When having two IUDS fitted there was an “overflow of womb cells through my cervix” and not once was anything been said or about that and at the time not knowing what that meant I didn’t do anything about it thinking it was normal. That was nearly five years ago now. I feel like they really have failed me. And sadly the only other drs in town have been known at badly misdiagnosing and already don’t trust them. Small towns are “great”

  • Well done on your research ,take nothing for granted ,as Lyn21 says get a second opinion ...

  • Hi there and thanks for the post

I am sorry to hear about the ongoing symptoms you have and the worry they are causing you. Undergoing tests in never easy and it sounds like you have a number of different things going on at the moment.

Unfortunately symptoms can be caused by an array of different things and it is impossible to self diagnose yourself on the internet. I'm afraid no one here can say what might be going on for you so we always advise people arrange an appointment with their doctor, with ongoing and worrying symptoms.

Whilst it sounds like you have seen doctors already at your practice it is important to go back to discuss your concerns and fears with them. Ask them if they can arrange any other tests to find out more about these headaches/migraines or if a referral to a hospital specialist may be helpful and see what they have to say. Do also bear in mind that there are some tests GP's can't arrange and when this is the case it is only a consultant who can request these.

In regards to your colposcopy appointment, remember that cervical screening is all about the prevention of cervical cancer by detecting abnormality (high risk HPV that can cause abnormal cells in the cervix) and where they can be monitored or treated (removed) and until everything returns to normal to stop abnormal cells turning into cancer.

Please speak with your GP again when you can but try not to over think things or let your mind run away with itself until you have more answers.

I hope you know more soon and that everything turns out okay for you.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Best wishes

    Naomi

  • Thank you so Much Naomi, just felt panic and went straight to Google as most tend to but in my head I know there’s something not right. And I’m usually a very “meh I’ll be fine” person but the last couple months have felt, strange and like things are piling on, so as you say best to keep trying. Have been given an loccum DR appointment next week so shall just express my wishes for extra testing :)
