Hello Tree-Me and thanks for your post,
I am sorry to hear about your situation. I often think the hardest time is waiting and not being sure what will happen next.
You may find it helpful to chat this through with your GP. They will have received information about your various tests. They may be able to refer you to a counsellor so do ask.
We have some information on our website about how to find a counsellor
You may find it helpful to get in touch with Anxiety UK. They will help offer you coping strategies whilst you are waiting to hear more.
If you are diagnosed with a cancer Macmillan offer free counselling sessions which are organised through Bupa.
There are various Maggie Centres attached to various hospitals and if you are diagnosed with cancer they offer support and help.
Once you have more information I am sure it will all become clearer. You should be given a specialist nurse who works closely with the doctors and will hopefully be able to answer any concerns or worries that you may have further down the line if you are diagnosed with cancer.
It is important to make your doctors aware about how anxious this is making you feel. It can help to bring a friend or a close relative with you so they can also here what the doctor says. It can help to share how you are feeling with a trusted friend or relative.
I do hope you know more soon.
Do give the nurses a ring on the helpline if you would like to talk things through. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
Take care,
Catherine
