CLL

I was diagnosed with CLL about four years ago and have been under watch and wait, no treatment as yet. However my neck grands and underarm glands are now swollen so it appears that I am moving to stage two of CLL. I would like to understand from others in a similar situation what treatment you have undergone. Thank you

  • Hello Spondonhiuse and thanks for your post,

I am not sure whether you have been in touch with your haematologist so that your CLL can be assessed but if you haven't it would be a good idea to do so.

You have posted in 'ask the nurses' but if you post on another thread or start your own then you may find that you get more responses.

There are several decisions that the haematologist needs to consider if they decide to offer you treatment. This decision is discussed with other members of the haematology team. A lot will depend on your general health, the stage of your cancer, whether you have any mutations (changes in the cells) and also on what you would like.

You may find it helpful to read through our page on treatment decisions for CLL

It can be helpful to read through the various pages so you are familiar with the treatments if they decide to offer you anything moving forward.

We also have a page on different support organisations  that you might find helpful to look through.

I do hope that some of these links maybe  useful.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    All the best,

    Catherine
