The CA 125 blood test measures the levels of a particular protein that can be released when there is irritation and inflammation in a woman's pelvis region. Endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and fibroids are some of the things that can cause this, as well as cancer.

At the moment I would expect that the doctors will be assessing you to find what is the cause for you. It may be that they do an internal ultrasound to get a better picture of that area.

Until they have done all of their investigations it is difficult to say whether the cause is cancer or not. But I understand this time brings with it a lot of uncertainty which must be hard when you want answers.
