I am sorry to learn you needed to have treatment for prostate cancer.

We cannot say whether the pains in your back are because of the surgery you have had, usually, you would expect the pain to improve as time goes on. If however nerves have been damaged during surgery, this can take some time to improve but it also may be the case that the pain is unrelated.

Do let your team at the hospital know about the symptoms you are experiencing, they will be able to clarify if this is something to be expected or if it is something that needs to be checked. You may find it helpful to contact your nurse specialist (CNS) for advice. You may need to leave a message but they should get back to you.

It may also be helpful to re-post this to the 'living with cancer' thread so that others who may have had the same surgery can give their own experiences.
