  • A very warm welcome to the forum Gooddad although I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. This must be a very challenging time for you and your family.

I just wanted to let you know that you our nurses don't work in the evenings but they will reply to you as soon as they can when they are back in the office tomorrow. You can also speak with them in person, on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

If your daughter's chest pain gets any worse and you need urgent medical advice, make sure you contact the NHS on 111.

Our thoughts are with your Gooddad and we're wishing your daughter all the best with her treatment.

    Kind regards,

  • Hello and thanks for posting,

I can appreciate that it is a tough time for your family right now.

Sometimes, the leukaemia cells can cause bone pain. This can affect the sternum and ribs in the chest area. It may improve as the treatment controls the disease.

Hopefully, her specialist team can advise more on this. There are quick and short acting painkillers that can be taken under the tongue, that help with acute episodes of pain. They might be useful if this is happening frequently. You may be interested to know that the UK charity leukaemia care can provide support and information to people affected by leukaemia.

I hope that this improves soon for her.

    Best wishes,
