HPV CIN1 and joint pain

I want to know if there is a connection between HPV virus, and joint pain or arthritic conditions

  • Hi Sopharies and thank you for your post.

There is no solid scientific evidence connecting HPV to any arthritic conditions.  As far as we are aware types of HPV just cause abnormal cell changes.

It's important to understand that any changes to your cervix classified as  CIN 1   (cervical intraepithelial neoplasia) are not cancerous. CIN 1 refers to changes in the cells that cover the outside of the cervix, specifically the squamous cells. There are three grades of CIN, which indicate how deeply the abnormal cells have penetrated the epithelial layer of the cervix.

The cervical screening programme is designed to prevent cervical cancer by picking up abnormality that can then be monitored or treated until everything goes back to normal.

I hope this information is useful,
