New lump 6 months after lumpectomy

Hi I had  a grade 3 her2 breast cancer and under went surgery,, chemo and radiotherapy from April 24 to Sep 24, my original lump was in my right bottom of my breast and I have today found a new lump in the same breast at the top, should I be concerned or could this just be side effects from my treatment, feeling very anxious

  • I would definitely call the breast clinic tomorrow to get it checked asap

don’t let any lumps go unchecked x

  • Hi I am planning calling my breast nurse in the morning , just so anxious x

  • Hello and thanks for posting

I appreciate you feeling worried and anxious about this new breast lump after everything you've been through.

It's possible this new lump could be a build up of scar tissue from the surgery or a reaction from your treatments. However, given your previous history it's best to get it checked out just to be on the safe side.

The best thing to do is to contact your breast care team or GP. They will be able to examine the lump and if needed, arrange further tests to find out what may be going on.

I hope you know more soon and that everything turns out to be okay. Give us a ring if you would like to talk anything over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
