Although your daughter has read about a possible link between acrylamide and cancer, there isn’t enough good quality evidence to show this.

For example, some studies aren’t able to accurately measure the amount of acrylamide in people’s diets. And good quality studies have not shown that acrylamide from food causes cancer in humans. You can read more about this on our website.

We don't know what causes most cancers. But there are lifestyle factors that we can all follow to help reduce our risk of developing cancer that your daughter might find helpful.
