melanoma of the scalp in my 78 yr old stepmother.

My stepmother's symptoms have improved,, but she still is bleeding from the site. At one stage the cancerous hole was down to the skull and a,lot. of packing everyday. does this mean we are 'out of the woods'?

  • Hello and thanks for posting,

Unfortunately, we can't offer a very specific comment on this, as we are not directly involved in her clinical care. Overall, if an area of tissue is now healing, and has a good blood supply, then it does suggest things are going well, and the outlook is good. Hopefully her nurses caring for the wound could explain more to you.

    Best wishes,

    Vanda
