Nose basal cell and cll watch and wait

Hi..This is my first post..I am on watch and eait with Cll.. In the last 5 weeks a basal cell has griwn on the bridge of my nose. The size is approx 8mm acriss and protrudes say 5mm. I have been refered to dermotology on 21st oct. I am visting the photography dept.

Can anyone advise me on what I am likely to expect. I have read that its common for cll patients to get skin cancer. Is this correct? Anyone under 65 in the same situation?

I am on the list for a sleep apnia machine as well. Yet another illness that follows Cll.

Regards to all...

  • Hi there Always123 and thanks for the post

I am sorry to hear about your situation, this must be a tough time for you.

Unfortunately CLL can increase the risk of developing a non melanoma type skin cancer such as a basal cell carcinoma. The important thing now for you is to be assessed by dermatology to confirm what this is and decide the best treatment.

You can read more about getting diagnosed with skin cancer and what to expect on our website, so do take a look.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Wishing you all the best

    Naomi
