This can vary and will depend on how much tissue was originally removed from the cervical area. It can take up to 6 months for the cervix to heal fully, as it is slow to heal.

Try and wait a few more weeks before having penetrative sex. It should improve over time. If you experience discharge or soreness outside of sexual activity, then seek medical advice. Sometimes an infection can occur. Any concerns, then do speak with your GP or the colposcopy unit that performed the procedure.
