SCC stands for squamous cell cancer. This type starts from the squamous skin cells, so can happen anywhere on the body where these skin/tissue cells are found.

They often occur in the top layers of our skin, (called the Dermis). Breast cancer originates within breast tissue in the breast area, and is a different type of cancer.
