Hi ,I am suffering from acute breathlessness what can I do to help ease the problem please
Hello and thank you for your post,
I am sorry to hear that you are feeling breathless.
I am afraid because I do not know why you are breathless, it is difficult for me to give you advice on how to make this better. So, if you have not told your doctor about this please do, as this may need to be investigated to find out why it is happening and treated.
There can be many reasons why someone feels breathless. If it is very bad and worrying you may need to get urgent medical advice, you can do this by calling the NHS on 111 or if it is an emergency call for an ambulance on 999.
Please get back to us if you need any more information or support. You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
Take care,
Caroline
Thanks Caroline,it's one of the side effects of Mylofibrosis so probably nothing I can do
Hello and thank you for getting back to us.
Myelofibrosis can cause anaemia and that can sometimes make people breathless. However, there could be other reasons such as a chest infection. If you have not updated your hospital team about your breathlessness then do, as there may be something they can do about it. I am sorry but because I am not part of your care team and don't know what the matter is I can't safely give advice on what to do, so please talk to your specialist team.
