Hi so in Friday I a appointment with my go due to 3 weeks of bleeding and upon examination she has said she seen something on my cervix and has sent a 2week referral to colposocopy and on my notes she has put sinister with a ? 

Is this something I need to worry about, my anxiety really isn't calming down with this :(

    I am sorry to hear about your situation. Waiting for tests is never easy and unfortunately it is only when you have the colposcopy and they have perhaps taken biopsies that they will be able to tell you more.

    The GP has only seen your cervix with her naked eye where as the colposcopy can magnify the area in much greater detail providing a clearer picture. Lesions on the cervix can occur for other reasons other then cancer such as polyps (which are usually benign), not cancer, so try not to over think it for now.

    Thank you for your reply , can a gp tell if u have cervical cancer,  I could see the worry in her face she drew a picture of a normal cervix then added quiete a big circle on the middle circle of the cervix and said that is what mine looks like , my smear is due 2025 so have been up to date with them and last smear was fine , just wish my appointment would hurry up so I know what's what , it will be within 2 week but feels like its going to be a long 2 week whilst waiting, it's the not knowing what is the worst
