I am sorry to hear that you are feeling nervous before your your taxol treatment. 

Everyone responds to different treatments in different ways and hopefully you may find any side effects easier to manage then the EC treatment that you have just had.

We do have some information on our website about Taxol.

The important thing is that you let your team know if you are having any side effects and hopefully they can try and minimise them with other drugs.

Sometimes it can help to keep a diary so you can record how you are feeling each day and you can report back when you have your appointment before your next cycle of treatment.

Thank you Catherine I’m just worried I will get a allergic reaction as I was in hospital last week with neutropenia/sepis I’m so worried sharon

Do let the nurses know about your worries. You may be given a premedication before the Taxol treatment to help prevent any allergic reaction.

Hi there,

I had this regime last year EC x 4 then taxol x 4 ...

I found the taxol much kinder .... I suffered with bone pain day 2 to 4 then was relatively okay after that.

Hi Jess thanks for your reply that has helped me a lot as I was I hospital last week with neutropenia and I don’t want that again my oncologist called and said I’ll be on taxol next Thursday to let my body recover I’m on fortnightly 3 hour infusion I thought that was a lot but can’t wait till 28 th nov when the chemo is finished

Great that you have been  on the same regime so you know exactly what I’m going through glad you got your life back on it as that’s what I want as I feel my identity is lost at the mo just can’t wait till it’s over thanks Jess about  reminding me to get some paracetamol plus definitely a hot water bottle and I will keep you updated xx

Hi Jessica got cancelled so now I have to wait till Tuesday at 1 I feel so nervous the nurse said I will be there till 6 as it’s fortnightly can’t wait till it’s over then they will restage me after two taxols never heard of that before xxx

Yes I was there a long time too .... around 5 hours. I used to take a book and get comfy! 

So sorry it's been delayed there's nothing worse you just want it over with don't you!
