  • Hello Woody and thanks for posting

I'm sorry you are going through a tough time with your treatment.

People vary in the side effects that they experience with immunotherapy. The symptoms you are experiencing are usually due to how immunotherapy works. It boosts the immune system to fight cancer but this can sometimes cause inflammation or nerve irritation leading to nerve and muscle pain.

These side effects are usually temporary and should improve over time. However, for some people the symptoms can be longer lasting.

I’m not sure if you’ve let your healthcare team know that you are experiencing these side effects. They will assess you and may prescribe medications to manage the side effects

You have posted on the ask the nurses section of the forum and you are asking for other peoples experiences. Anyone is welcome to reply on here but you may get more response from others who may be or have gone through similar by posting in a different section of the forum as well as here.

I hope things improve for you soon. Give us a ring if you would like to talk things over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
