Unrelated health concerns

I have recently had surgery to treat a gynaecological cancer, with no further treatment needed.  I have noticed something unrelated, that I am sure is harmless, however I would normally make an appointment with my GP to have it checked.  I now feel that I have used up all of my allotted visits, and fear becoming an ‘eye roll’ patient who takes up lots of appointments.

Is it quite usual to feel this way?

  • Hello Openup and thanks for your post,

We would always encourage anyone who is worried about their health to make an appointment to see their GP.

I can understand that you feel concerned that you have already had a few appointments but the most important thing is that if you have concerns that you get them checked out.

I hope that you make an appointment soon and hopefully your GP will be able to reassure you and be able to put your mind at rest.

If you would like to chat any of this through with one of the helpline nurses then you are welcome to give us a call.

Our number is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.

    All the best,

    Catherine
