My 22 year old son is in maintenance, he was diagnosed with leukaemia in November 2022. The picc line was removed earlier this year as it was coming out. His monthly intravenous chemo is problematic. 3 months ago it leaked into the tissue and he had severe internal burns. Last week they struggled to get a cannula in and now want to put the picc line back in. He feels this would be a step backwards and a source of infection, he was hospitalised 3 times due to infection through the line. Is there anything that can help to stop the line having to be put back on?
