I am sorry to hear you had treatment for breast cancer last year, that must have been a very difficult time for you.

Whilst I can appreciate you wishing to be followed up more closely, yearly mammograms are the recommended time frame by NICE to monitor post breast cancer treatment, which is seen as sufficient. 

There has also been some studies carried out that have shown there is no benefit to patients having additional follow up scans unless they present with symptoms. If of course a patient is concerned by a change in their body in the meantime they should make their doctor aware so the most appropriate tests can be arranged.

As you are still under a hospitals care and surveillance following breast cancer I think most private healthcare providers will have a similar viewpoint of extra mammograms. You may however wish to look up local private hospitals to you on privatehealthcare.co.uk and enquire with them about this.

Thank you Naomi for you response I have talked this through with my oncologist and have found a local private hospital who I can get the extra mammogram.
