I am sorry to learn of your husband's situation, I imagine this is a difficult time and there is a lot of uncertainty
Whilst a kidney mass of 11cm may be considered large there are many things other than the size of the mass that the doctors look at when diagnosing and planning treatment. For example, if it is confirmed it is cancer, the doctors will need to know whether or not it is just in the kidney (the stage) how fast-growing it is (grade), and a person's general health (how fit they are).

Hi Jemma, we haven't seen anyone yet it was found on am mri for what we thought was sore back. It just seems so massive now I know why he's been in so much pain. I'm assuming a radiologist wouldn't say it was malignant if they didn't know. I wish I hadn't read the report I've felt sick ever since.
