I’m afraid it varies from one cancer centre or hospital to another. 

In the past I would have confidently said “it takes about a fortnight and will be done face to face”. Since the pandemic and austerity that’s no longer always the case. 

If you’ve not received an appointment letter within a week of your scan it would be worth giving them a call and politely asking the same question as you have here.

No worries - the wait is bad enough but the uncertainty makes it feel even worse. 
Everyone gets torn between desperately wanting to know and desperately not wanting it to be bad news. 

That’s exactly it. I keep planning in my head for the worst case scenario but hoping for the best! Thank you.

I can understand how unsettling it is waiting for tests and then results but  I would wait a few more days and then contact the  urology secretary if you haven't heard anything.

As I am not involved in your care I am not sure if they are planning any further tests but hopefully they will let you know soon. You may hear from other members but everyone's situation is different so it is difficult to compare one person's experience with another.

Do give the nurses a ring on the helpline if you would like to go through anything.
