Metastatic breast cancer in lung - advice please

Hi

I have stage 4 metastatic breast cancer with spread to lungs.  I have real issues with my breathing and have oxygen therapy at home and I use a mobility scooter to help with mobility. I am 54.

The oncology team tell me that the breast cancer ‘should not’ cause me to have such poor breathing and as a result I was referred to respiratory who also say the same.  However, I have had a document shared with me from a medical magazine that tells the story of a lady who has breast cancer which triggered PH.  Can you advise if I can ask Ocology or respiratory team to test for this?  Maybe as I have cancer, they may not wish to do so?

    I am sorry to learn of your situation this must be a difficult time for you. 

    I was unsure what you meant by 'PH' and wondered if you meant postural hypotension, apologies if I have got this wrong. Do discuss your concerns with either your oncology team or respiratory team as they know your situation. You might find it easier to get hold of your specialist nurse (CNS). They might be able to tell you straight away whether having PH might be a possibility. They will also be able to send you for any necessary tests
