  • Hello Aurafinnpot and thanks for your post,

I am sorry to hear about your husband.

I can understand how unsettling it must be for you not knowing what the future holds.

It is good news that the cancer in his liver has shrunk and that he has responded to the treatment.

Without being involved in your husband's care it is really only his own doctors who can give you a guide to what will happen in the future. It is also difficult for his own doctors to be too precise as everyone responds to treatments in different ways.

Whilst the chemotherapy is tolerated and it appears to be shrinking the tumour I am sure that the doctors will want to continue with the treatment that he is having. How long this will continue I can not say but there may well be other treatments that they may consider further down the line.

You could ask your husband's permission to speak to his doctors about this subject if this is something that you would like to do.

You are very welcome to ring and chat this through with one of the nurses on the helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    All the best,

    Catherine
