I would make an appointment with your GP and get them to take a look. It is difficult for us to give an opinion without being able to see it. It could be a spot that has become infected which is why it is sore so try not to over think it for now.

It is quite a good idea when you notice something that you have concerns about that you take a photograph and then you can look back at it to see if there are any changes.
