Newly Diagnosed Mestatic RCC spread to pancreas and lung

initial diagnosis and nephrectomy 2016 annual monitoring started to feel unwell after covid, pain over liver despite numerous visits to gp was told it was nothing probably from gallbladder removal over 15 yrs ago,  manage with Painkillers, Suddenly offered Consultant appointment March where I was told the same then a senior consultant reviewed my file and so followed by a barrage of tests, Diagnosed 3 July told its mestatic in pancreas and lung started Targeted therapy last week, FOTIVIDA and besides the nausea a bit of painand extreme tiredness im ok.. just unable to get a straight answer from anyone keep being told its difficult questions to answer

Life expectancy with or without treatment?

is this actually going to help I know its not going to go away..?

anyone else in same boat? I have a 14 yr old and hubby as well as 5 adult kids I just need straight answers advice on how to manage what's coming and if there is the slim chance I could plod on for another few years or not

    I can appreciate your questions.

    Your specialist may be able to give you general statistics around your outlook with or without treatment, based on other similar patients they may had. It is difficult for others outside of your direct clinical care to comment on this very specifically. Usually treatment is offered when there is a reasonable expectation that it will help, by reducing symptoms and maybe slowing down the cancer. Your specialist will want to monitor you over the next few treatments, and assess how you are responding to this treatment, and may use scans and blood tests to do this. So, I think at this point, it is perhaps a little early for them to comment in depth about how your overall health condition is looking moving forward.
