Availability of NHS SIRT radiation treatment in Scotland and England

I'm new to the forum and seven years in with colorectal cancer and liver and lung secondaries. Lots of different treatments so far but soon SIRT seems to be an option and I'd like to find out what centres in Scotland and England currently offer it please?

  • Hello Darksky and thanks for the post

I am sorry to hear about your situation and appreciate you exploring your options.

SIRT as you say is available for some patients with colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver, who meet the criteria to have this on the NHS. We always suggest patients discuss the best treatment options with their specialist team to make sure you are getting the most appropriate treatment.

There is a list of hospitals offering SIRT on Mysirtstory website, so do take a look at this.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Best wishes

    Naomi
