  • Hello Maz04 and thanks for your post,

I am so sorry to hear about your situation. I can only imagine how difficult it must be not knowing what will happen in the future.

Without being involved in your sister's care it is difficult for us to be able to comment on her outcome. A lot will depend on how well she responds to any of the newer drugs that she is given. The aim when a cancer has spread is to control any symptoms and prolong life for as long as possible.

I can't say whether this will be until next year but maybe her doctors will be able to give you more of an idea.

You would need to ask your sister's permission to speak to her doctors about her outcome and I can understand how very sensitive and painful these questions are to ask.

We do have a page on our website about secondary brain cancer which you might find helpful to look at.

If any of your family would like to ring and chat through any of this with one of the helpline nurses then you are welcome to do so.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    all the best,

    Catherine
