White patch

Hello

I had a scope done last week in my throat. The physician said that I had a “white patch on my skin” and a biopsy needs to be done under general anesthetic.

Any thoughts on any of this. I am so anxious.
Thanks

  • Hello and thanks for posting,

I can appreciate you want to know more about your current situation.

Unfortunately, we can't tell you anything very specific. Biopsies are done to get more clinical information from any unusual skin patches. Sometimes these patches can indicate infection, or abnormal cell changes, Not all abnormal cell changes are cancer. Once the doctor has more information, they can advise you what, if any treatment may be necessary. I can appreciate it is an anxious time, but it is important to keep an open mind at this point.

I hope that you get to find out more soon,

    Kind regards,

    Vanda
