Zoledronic acid before mastectomy

Hi, I am due to start my first zoledronic acid infusion tomorrow, but not having surgery for another few weeks. Everything I've read online says this treatment starts after surgery, so I'm a bit confused. Is it unusual to have this treatment before surgery?

    Unfortunately, we can't tell you anything very specific about this. You will need to ask your hospital team, as they have access to your clinical care details.

    Do ask them about your latest results, as there may be a reason behind their decision to start the treatment now.
