Lymphoma…breathlessness

Hi, what causes breathlessness and loss of energy?

  • Hi Bricon and thank you for your post.

There can be various symptoms of lymphoma depending on the specific type.

There can be several reasons for experiencing breathlessness and fatigue. For example, it may be a symptom of lymphoma, particularly if the lymphoma is located in the chest area. If the lymphoma affects the bone marrow, it could be due to low red blood cell levels leading to anaemia. Additionally, breathlessness and fatigue can be side effects of lymphoma treatments such as chemotherapy.

We have information on both breathlessness  and fatigue  on our webpage which you may find helpful to read.

If you experience any new symptoms, I recommend speaking to your GP or hospital specialist.

I hope you find this information useful.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Tina
