I'm sorry to read about your situation. This must be a difficult time for you.
Your overall immune system shouldn't be weaker after lymph node surgery. But you may be prone to infections or swellings in the area where the nodes are removed. Your specialist team will give you specific advice on this. If you have a head and neck specialist nurse involved in your care then perhaps they can provide you with further support. You often have to call and leave them a message and they will get back to you.
