  • Hi Kellogs 1 and thank you for your post.

I am sorry to learn of your recent diagnosis.  I can understand how this can conjure up a range of emotions.

You may find it helpful to read our webpage on how cancer can make you feel.

It might help you to talk to someone about your diagnosis.  Macmillan  have useful advice on their webpage on how to talk about cancer. They have also teamed up with BUPA to offer free counselling sessions.

Maggie's also offer support and advice to the family as well as the person with cancer.

You may also find it helpful to read our page on types of surgery for kidney cancer. which may help you to understand a little about the procedure and what to expect.

Also your urology nurse specialist should be able to give you support and advice.

I hope you find this information helpful and all goes well with your surgery.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Tina
