Worried about white lump/spot on tongue getting bigger

Hi there, I'm wondering if someone can help me. I have had a white lump  spot on the tip of my tongue for around 7 months now and it's gradually getting bigger. I'm noticing it more now because it actually gets stuck between the Gap and my tooth. I thought I'd ask a question if anyone could help me out on it because I have no clue why it could be. I was going to upload a picture but realised I can't

  • Only a dentist or doctor can even begin to tell you what it is. Could be anything. General rule with any lump, bump, lesion or patch in the mouth that don't get better after 2 weeks is go see a professional in person.

Very important that you do this rather than seek answers on the internet.

  • Hello and thank you for your post.

I am afraid that no one here can tell you what this is and if it is anything worrying.

The best thing to do is to make a GP appointment to get checked out.

I hope you get it seen too soon.

You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Take care,

    Caroline
