My husband is end of live

My husband is on syringe drive and most of the time asleep.  I want to know how long this will last.  Is he going to go in his sleep? He had metastases liver cancer.

  • Hello and thank you for your post,

I can imagine that this is a very difficult time for you right now.

Unfortunately, we can't give you very specific information on their situation, as we are not providing direct clinical care. That is something that the community palliative care team/district nurses looking after him can comment on. Usually, someone's outlook (prognosis) is very limited, if they are becoming more frail, sleeping more, and are not eating or drinking very much.

The NHS has information on their website about changes in the last few hours or days which may help.

    Take care,

    Vanda
