Non Hodgkin Lymphoma

Hi I have been diagnosed with Non Hodgskins Lymphoma on 24.5.24. I am currently undergoing Chemo called Pola R Chop think that's it. I am bit complicated in that I hadca Liver Transplant due to a an autoimmune condition called PBC back in 2015 which I did very well after thankfully. Just wondering if anyone else has experience like this and how they did following Chemo. I am worried that the scheduled 6 rounds of Chemo planned mite not be enough to cure this given my complex medical history. I also have CKD Stage 3 as a consequence if having had the liver disease and have few other conditions also. Any info be great thanks. I am a woman aged 53yrs old. Thanks

  • Hello and thank you for posting. I'm sorry to hear you have had a difficult time with your health.

Unfortunately, nobody here will be able to say how you will get on with this treatment. Other forum users will have situations very individual to them, so it will be difficult to compare.

It is important you understand the Pola-R-CHP chemotherapy you are having and your doctor's expectation of how you might get on. If you have a specialist nurse (CNS) then maybe give them a call and explain your concerns.

The doctors discuss each case at an MDT (Multidisciplinary Team meeting) and will take into account someone's previous medical history when deciding on treatments so that they can always try to get the best outcomes for each person.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9 am till 5 pm, Monday to Friday.

    Take care,

    Sarah.
