  • Hi Gsdlover1971, sorry to hear you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. I was diagwith invasive ductal carcinoma in January. I had 3 cycles of EC, then 4 docetaxel and had minimal side effects throughout. Everyone has different experiences on chemo, so keep positive as it may not be as bad as you think. I wish you well moving forward. Xx

  • Hi Pippin24 thanks for your info and kind words xx

  • Hello and thanks for posting,

Patients vary in their experience's of treatment. Not everyone is the same. But overall, fatigue can increase over treatment cycles, and some adjustments around how you do your daily activities may be needed. Some people have active days, then rest days. Or take it more gently, the first few days after each treatment.

We have information on our website about breast cancer chemotherapy The UK charity Breast Cancer Now also has information on chemotherapy treatment which may be useful.

Hopefully, other forum members in the general section of Cancerchat (not ask the nurses), can interact with you, and can often offer tips and advice, based on their own experiences of having treatment.

    I hope that this helps,

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Yours sincerely,

    Vanda
