Feeling in limbo

Today I should be receiving my results following breast surgery that took place on the 27th of June, I was hoping to understand my margins were clear and also my lymph nodes don’t show any signs of cancer, it’s the waiting that’s the worst, but to get a call 2 hours before your actual appointment to say the results are not back, I am finding it difficult, difficult because you prep yourself and mind to receive whatever news is thrown at you to then have the rug pulled from underneath you last minute. I know this isn’t the hospital’s fault but still my mind is on overdrive.

  • Hello and thanks for posting

I'm sorry to read about the delay with your results. Waiting is incredibly stressful and having that wait extended unexpectedly must be very frustrating and upsetting. It's completely normal to feel overwhelmed in this situation.

Easier said than done but try and take things one step at a time. There is no easy way to get through waiting. But many people tell us that keeping busy and sticking to a routine can help a little

I hope you know more soon. Give us a ring if you would like to talk anything over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
