My mum has been diagnosed with endometrial cancer.

Hi.

I am writing on behalf of my mum who has been with endometrial cancer. She is only in the early stages of diagnosis and awaiting a CT scan but at the hospital they said it was serous cancer cell. I dont want to Google but would like to know more about this specific type of cancer. Also what to expect with treatment

Thanks

  • Hello and thanks for posting,

I can appreciate that you want to know more about your mum's diagnosis.

The serous type is much less common than other endometrioid (womb) cancers. It also develops from the lining of the womb. This is called a non endometrioid cancer. It is a type 2 endometrial cancer. Treatment will be based on the type of cancer, but also the stage, and grade of it as well.

We have detailed information on our website about womb cancer and its treatments, which may be useful to read through.

    I hope this is helpful,

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Yours sincerely,

    Vanda
