  • Hello KatieA and thanks for the post

I am sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis and appreciate what a difficult time this must be for you.

It is very easy at times like this for the mind to run away with itself and expect the worse but try and sit tight for now. All stage 1 cervical cancers are considered early stage cancers that are usually successfully treated.

There is more information about stage 1 cervical cancer on our website that breaks this down and explains the possible treatment options available. Obviously the specialist team involved in your care will discuss the next steps with you and what they think is the best treatment moving forward.

There is so much to take in and this is understandably an unsettling time for you. I hope you have the support of close family and friends around you to help lighten the load a little.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Wishing you all the best

    Take care

    Naomi

  • Hi there Lmc72 and thanks for your post too

I am sorry to hear you are also in a similar situation. The waiting and not knowing is a worrying place to be but hopefully, you will know more very soon.

As I said to KatieA, cervical cancer when found at an early stage is often easily treated so please don't let your thoughts run away with themselves, but rather take each day as it comes.

I'm sure the team of doctors and nurses involved in your care will talk through the findings with you soon and the plan for the next steps, to give you the best possible outcome.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    All the best,

    Naomi

  • Hello thank you ive had my mri scan just waiting for results i dont want to die i dont want to leave my kids i am scared

  • Hi there again Katie and thanks for getting back

I appreciate what a scary time this is for you and having children to worry about on top of this can make this much harder to deal with.

Do share your thoughts and feeling with other people including your own GP and specialist nurse or doctor. They are there to best support you through this time and sign post you to other specialist help as needed.

As I said previously cancer when caught at an early stage can be successfully treated with people going on to live long lives beyond their diagnosis.

The team of doctors and nurses looking after you will talk and support you through every step of the way and will be wanting to give you the best possible outcome.

Try and take things one step at a time and distract your mind as best you can by keeping busy.

Please call us if you would like to. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

Take care and please try not to over think anything for now.
