Recommended food/diet for squamous carcinoma?

What foods can you eat if you have squamous carcinoma?

  • Hi and thank you for your post.

I can appreciate you want to support your health, but there is not a particular diet for each type of cancer. In general, we would recommend maintaining a healthy diet, getting regular exercise, and avoiding smoking. As nurses, we cannot give you more specific diet advice, but if you feel you need this then we would suggest you speak to your GP or hospital team.

The term squamous carcinoma includes various types of cancer that originate in squamous cells. These cells can develop on the skin's surface and in the lining of the respiratory and digestive tracts. So many cancers, in different parts of the body, can be termed as squamous cell carcinoma.

You may like to read our web pages on diet and cancer and diet problems with cancer if helpful.

I hope you find this information useful.

Please feel free to get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9 am till 5 pm, Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Tina

  • Thank you so much for your response. It’s oesophageal tumor so it’s become hard to swallow when eating. Will follow the links you have provided and call the number too.
