  • Hi there and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear about the issues you are having since starting chemotherapy. It is important to let the hospital team know about this so they can assess you also.

It isn't uncommon for people undergoing chemo to experience a varying level of fatigue. Alongside this there can be muscle and joint pain and weakness and the nerves ( in the form of peripheral neuropathy) can also be affected by certain drugs. This can all add up and make it more challenging for patients to move around and about. However the doctors and nurses need to assess how this is affecting you so they can advise on the best things to best manage this for you, as well as adjusting your treatment if necessary.

They may suggest a physiotherapist or refer you to an Occupational therapist to provide exercises and equipment if needed, to make life easier.

I hope this helps and you get the help you need to best manage and improve this for you.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Best wishes
