I am sorry to learn that you are having symptoms that are causing you concern.

Although having pain in the shoulder can be a symptom of lung cancer this is rare, the most common symptom is a cough that persists and it certainly does not mean that you have cancer. You have done the right thing getting yourself checked by your GP and they can refer you for tests if necessary.

Lots of people when they are worried will go on to Google. However, a diagnosis can only be made by a doctor after tests have been done. The information on the internet can be frightening and can heighten a person's anxiety.  It is important to remember the information is general and is not talking about your situation. 

It can be a stressful and anxious time waiting for tests and test results. Easier said than done is to try not to overthink things. For some people, it can be helpful to distract themselves by carrying on with daily life. For example, working or meeting up with friends.
