  • Hi Johnny and thank you for your post.

I am sorry to learn of your difficult situation at the moment. I do realise how

results can be very confusing to understand. The best person to tell you would be your hospital specialist but generally

Mx means metastasis cannot be measured and R0 means no residual tumour found. This means there was no signs of cancer found in the margin of tissue removed from around the tumour at the time of surgery.

You may find it helpful to read our webpages on treatment  for tongue cancer and side effects of  radiotherapy.

If you have a specialist nurse, they can provide further advice on this report and your treatment plan.

I hope you find this information helpful.  Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Tina

  • Dear Tina

Wow that is great to know, many thanks. I got my mask fitted today and nearly fell asleep when the lovely warm mask was being fitted to my face and shoulders. The nurses were laughing when I thanked them for the facial type relaxation…

    regards

    Johnny
