Waiting for ct scan to see if it has spread from bladder, where are the most common places for the cancer to spread and are there symptoms to suggest it may have

  • Hello the camper and thanks for the post

I am sorry to hear you are awaiting tests and appreciate what an anxious time this must be for you.

If and when bladder cancer spreads it is often firstly to local organs surrounding the bladder and within the pelvis region, which is regarded as a local recurrence. When it starts spreading beyond this through lymph nodes and the blood stream to more distant organs then commonly affected organs include the lungs, liver and bones.

Symptoms that a person may experience will vary depending on the size, extent and position of the metastases (distant cancer spread). Symptoms may involve fatigue, pain and weight loss but of course these can be linked to other things as well, which is why only further tests such as a scan is the only way of knowing.

I hope you know more about your situation soon.
