Dizziness

How long after chemotherapy can you suffer from dizziness?  Can this go on for years, and what can be done about it?

  • Hello there and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear you are suffering from dizziness since having chemotherapy. It isn't unusual to feel a degree of dizziness and unsteadiness for a few months after the chemo has finished as the drugs make their way out of your body.

If the dizziness is getting worse or interfering with your every day life do speak to your doctor so they can assess you. There may be other causes other than the chemotherapy and they may need to be checked out.

Do make sure you are looking after yourself. Eating a healthy and balanced diet, drinking plenty of water and getting plenty of sleep can all help.

  • Hello and thanks for getting back

I am sorry to hear your mum is experiencing dizziness.

If it is several years after her treatment for cancer I suggest she really does need to get checked out by her doctor to make sure nothing else is going on.
