Morning
I am 78 years of age, in ge eral good health, active daily gardener not obese, non alcohol drinker, no smoker but a recent contrast MRI scan has revealed a slight lesion (Consultant definition) on my prostate. Symptoms are urinatingonce per night sometimes twice per night. The biopsy proposed is a transperineal biopsy.
Given my age and the possible side effects I am trying to decide whether to have the biopsy or not, given that it may or may not give a true picture and therefore the possibility of a repeat. Should I have the biopsy or not and if not what possible treatment would be avialble to me. The Consultant told me that he 'thinks' the lesion is not active but needs to confirm that
